So how does baccarat work?|GOLD99

The goal of baccarat is to make the hand you bet on, whether it is the player or the banker, the best of the two hands. The winning hand is scored as the hand for which the last digit of all points (clubs, diamonds, hearts and spades on the playing cards) added is closest to 9.

The only trouble is that each side gets a third card. A simple chart is used to show when the player or banker has a third card, which never happens when the player or banker is an 8 or 9 after the first two cards. This is called “natural”.

But when that doesn’t happen, there are times when either the player or the banker needs to take a card.

Player|GOLD99

If a player’s hand is 0–5, they draw a third card. 6 or 7, they stand. 8 or 9 is natural, even if the player has an 8 and the banker has a 9, the stand applies here. This happens from time to time.

Banker|GOLD99

If the player has a 6 or more, the banker behaves the same as the player: draws a third card with 0-5 hands, stands with a 6 or 7, and naturally has an 8 or 9. But if the player draws a third card, the banker takes action according to the following rules related to scoring:
0, 1, 2: Banker draws a card regardless of Player’s third card. 3: Unless the Player’s third card is an 8, the Banker draws a third card.
4: If the player’s third card is 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7.5, the banker draws a third card If the player’s third card is 4, 5, 6 or 7.6, the banker draws again A Third Card: The dealer draws the third card if the player’s third card is a 6 or 7. and 7: The dealer stands.

Tie|GOLD99

If the Player and Banker have the same points, the game is a draw. All bets on Player and Banker will be refunded. This is the only time a tie bet is paid, in all other cases they lose.
